AFC & TLC Round-up

Toyota League Cup - Last 8 Second Leg
Wuachon Utd (1) 1-0 (2) Ratchaburi
BEC Tero (3) 2-2 (3) Buriram Utd (BUtd win on away goals)
TOT (4) 2-2 (3) Muangthong Utd

2-2 draws for big guns Muangthong and Buriram Utd produced contrasting outcomes. Muangthong's draw at TOT was their first real blip of the season and it saw them exit the tournament. Gjurovski gave the TPL leaders the lead but two goals either side of the break by Paunovic had TOT firmly in the driving seat. Rangel did pull one back for MTU yet they couldn't find that elusive third goal.
At the Thephasadin, a double from Silva had BEC Tero 2-0 up and heading for the semi finals. However, Buriram weren't going to relinquish their trophy and fought back with two late goals to squeeze through to the last 4.
Wuachon's early goal was all the could manage as they lost 2-1 on aggregate to Ratchaburi. The Dragons join Buriram Utd, TOT and Bangkok Glass in the semi final draw this afternoon.

AFC Cup - Last 8 First Leg
Chonburi 1-2 Al Shorta SC

Two goals shortly before the interval put a severe dent into Chonburi’s AFC Cup hopes as they lost 2-1 at home to Al Shorta of Syria. The Thai side now have a mountain to climb when they travel to Jordan next week to salvage the tie.
The Sharks got off to a dream start scoring a goal within three minutes through Thiago. However, two goals on the cusp of half time through Al Jafal and De Soares dealt a double blow to the Sharks leaving them trailing 2-1.
Chonburi had chances in the second half with Thiago being a constant threat. Al Shorta though, got the job done as they held out to claim a precious 2-1 away victory.

Other quarter finals:
Arema Indonesia 0-2 Al Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia)
Arbil (Iraq) 5-1 Kelantan (Malaysia)
Kuwait SC 0-0  Al Wehdat (Jordan)
